Geolink
From Aberdeen, Scotland,
Geolink (UK) Ltd has manufactured Orienteer MWD (Measurement While Drilling)
systems for sale worldwide since 1990. Geolink Manufacturing and Customer
Support work side by side to bring high quality products and support to customers
worldwide.
The main design criteria of any Geolink product are:
Reliability and accuracy
Simplicity in form and design
Ease of operation and maintenance
Planned upgrade path for expansion options
Wide operational envelope
The Orienteer System Features:
A single tool can be used in all BHA sizes
from the very largest down to 4-3/4" OD.
Simple upgrades enable the same tool string to be attached to special
transmitters for use in 3-1/2", 3-1/8" and 2-7/8" assemblies.
Gamma Ray logging (real time and memory) is a simple plug in option.
Non-specialists with the appropriate training can operate the system.
The short tool length creates minimum restriction in the drilling string.
The system is small and compact with all critical tool components being
helicopter transportable.
The system is very easy to assemble and test under wellsite conditions.
Directional Survey System
The Orienteer Directional Survey Electronics Assembly contains industry standard
triaxial magnetometers and inclinometers and control electronics, which allow
full directional survey and steering operations over the complete inclination,
range of 0-180º. The tool is programmable both on surface and downhole in
order to provide the following features:
Full directional survey capability.
Transmission of survey quality parameters.
Choice of either standard or fast tool face updates.
Automatic switching between magnetic and gravity tool face updates.
The tool is set to convert from magnetic to gravity tool face updates when
the well inclination exceeds the default value of 3º.
Gamma Ray Logging System
The downhole gamma tool is attached to the standard directional tool string
below the Survey Electronic Assembly and is available in two types:
Standard Gamma Tool: This
tool is able to log gamma ray information in both real time and memory (at
16 second intervals) for in excess of 200 drilling hours.
High Memory Gamma Tool: This tool is able to log gamma ray information
in both real time and memory (at 8 second intervals) for in excess of 400
drilling hours.
Orienteer 3.5" Option Ultra-Slim System
The Orienteer 3.5" Ultra-Slim Directional/Gamma system has been
developed to meet the demands of the expanding slim-hole drilling sector.
